Site Name
I don’t know why you kept the same name. It is unique but it isn’t interesting, as I believe I pointed out last time.
Coding and Validation
Your coding has 42 errors and 1 warning.
The styling you have at the beginning of your document can go in your CSS file; there is no need for it to be there! If you want to for some reason, you have to put it in the <head> tags.
In your styleshet include, remove the slash towards the end (/).
You have a </h4> after your navigation which should be </h1> to end your navigation header.
You need a </h3> after your welcome message because you forget to end the command.
<left> is not a valid command.
All your images need an alt attribute for alternative text.
You have a random </textarea> in your sidebar.
You also need to make your Twitter code valid. You can view my tutorial on that.
You have a lot of other common errors. I suggest you read my tutorial on validating HTML. This is very important because if there are errors, it means there could be problems with your site in other browsers, and your site may not view properly.
Your CSS has 5 errors and 1 warning.
You should not use the same colour in certain places, and also, in your external stylesheet there is no need for the </style> at the end.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
Browsershots.org tells me your site is generally the same in most browsers.
However, there is an issue with your text. It looks small in Mozilla Firefox, but large in Internet Explorer. You’re using h3 for your text but the reason it’s looking different is because you haven’t customised it with CSS. You should have something like this in your CSS:
h3 {
font: 10pt arial;
}
The layout is centered which is good; therefore people in different resolutions will still see your site centered. The header image is of a fairly good size too – no problems in smaller resolutions there.
You need to fix your navigation. I can’t see what the links read until I hover over them. You should change this in your CSS:
a.nav, a.nav:active, a.nav:link, a.nav:visited {
...
color: #ffffff;
Don’t have white; change it to another colour so we can read it. “Domain” should be “site” or something similar; you don’t own a domain.
Layout
I did mention to you that celebrity graphics are not original, and you shouldn’t be using them unless they’re your own image, or if the photographer gave you direct permission.
That aside, the layout is quite simple. I do like the photo-style of the image, but there isn’t much decorating it. The arrow brushes are alright but I don’t like the colours you have used for your site name. You could have used a less fancy text or toned down the decorations on the text a bit.
I understand at the blue and pink sort of matches with the photo but it’s not quite a good colour scheme.
Degraeve has a good colour palette generator where you can get some nicer colours from an image.
You have quite a lot of white space in your header image. A texture or even more photos would have really jazzed it up. I know you’re going for the simple look, but when the image is rather big and you’ve got a lot of space, it doesn’t look good.
The purple background is nice, but it should be a bit more pink or light, to match Demi’s scarf.
The layout components are even and well set out. I don’t think ‘ads’ is necessary – at least center it rather than placing it off to the side.
I already mentioned the issue with your navigation; fix that please.
Content
You didn’t link me properly; your “tags” just leads to your server… but meh.
In the sidebar, heer should be here. You don’t need to say “we”. You’re the only owner as far as I can assume.
The affiliates section looks a mess. You don’t need all these links reading you! – it looks tacky. Make the links fit nicely.
Domain
As I mentioned, rename this section to something more appropriate as you don’t have a domain. Consider renaming “form” to “contact form”.
All these links open in a new window/tab which is completely unnecessary.
“Affies” would be better expressed as “affiliates”. You also need to fix the page as your sidebar appears outside of the container here. Also, remove all these “you!”s. It’s really unnecessary.
I don’t know why you list yourself on your credits page. Also, credit properly. Don’t just list the sites. Write the reasons they helped you and what resources you may have used. You need to credit co.nr as well, and ImageShack, and whatever other things helped you, including tutorials. You didn’t do everything wholly on your own.
You need to fix up the form page. It currently looks like this. Clean it up, and don’t use foreign characters for those rules.
at least one should be at least once
seperate should be separate
comment should be comments
for get should be for getting.
You could organise the history site better. Instead of writing in capitals with <h2>, just write normally. And this is supposed to be your site history; information about yourself should go on a separate page.
myself bu should be myself but
which means I am now should be I am now
its the only should be it’s the only
it is now more should be it was now more
even uses should be even used
closed it down should be closed it
perfect site but it was should be perfect site; it was
have a perfect should be have perfect
me parents wont should be my parents wouldn’t
that where should be that’s where.
The buttons are alright. Link to Granphic, don’t just write “Granphic”.
Visitor
I don’t see why all these links open in a new window/tab. There is no point. It’s because you’re putting target="lol" in your links. It isn’t funny at all to me.
The backgrounds are plain and boring; just a coloured brush on a coloured background.
None of your icons are good. You still have that “rightoeous” icon, which is still horribly pixelated. Your icons need improvement. The animated ones are not bad but the icons overall lack effects and any form of subject.
The blends aren’t terribly bad. I can’t imagine anyone using the first one. Bland colours, boring, and what is it of? The Girls Aloud one is much better, even though it lacks texture and I can barely see the writing.
You didn’t make this chart yourself; provide credit for the source.
Site signs page. This is what I see:
Please e-mail me if you made these images for credit!
So you didn’t make them yourself? You are not allowed to redistribute the work of others, much less those you don’t even know who made. It’s the equivalent of stealing. Remove these.
Textures are coming soon – no good. You’re giving the visitor the impression your site is unfinished, which isn’t a good thing.
The brushes page is titled “link me” instead.
The extended backgrounds – not good; the thumbnail (which is rather large anyway) leads to a 404. There is also no point in these backgrounds if they don’t fit a layout.
The HTML codes are pointless copy-and-paste codes that are generic and outdated. You should be using <code> rather than <xmp> as it is deprecated.
On the CSS tutorials I don’t see the point of the ‘navigation boxes’ link again.
On the CSS code tutorial, your text isn’t in your container.
thats should be that’s
contact my should be contact me.
This isn’t really a tutorial. The stylesheet template isn’t bad, but you should explain the parts of the CSS, not just the colours. There could be parts that people do not understand.
The navigation blocks tutorial is alright; an example of how it looks would be good.
The Freewebs toolbar was designed for it to be displayed on the site in terms of the free service. Therefore, putting up this code isn’t very ethical; people could have accounts suspended if they do not have the code displayed. This isn’t really a tutorial either.
I don’t really see the point of “making link buttons”. You can make link buttons in any program really.
your done should be you’re done
final results should be final result.
The Twitter code doesn’t really help; you don’t mention how to customise it – it’s basically a code you copy-and paste.
Also, I can’t see your <h2></h2> code because you haven’t displayed it with <code>.
Coded layouts are coming soon…
Programs is just a bunch of links to program downloads.
The brushes are alright; a bit pixelated though.
Reviews just leads to the same form; and you have no completed reviews.
On the “how to treat affies” article:
affilates should be affiliates
know I know should be now I know
dont should be don’t
you affie should be your affie.
This article obviously sends out a good message but you should be writing “affiliate” and not affie. Also, you should elaborate; this article is rather short.
Reviews
There’s basically nothing here.
Originality & Creativity
You’ve got original things here (apart from the celebrity graphics, which you should remove) but they’re not of good quality.
A lot of your content lacked quality; you need to improve on graphics. Also, your written content needs to be fixed up and more organised.
Organisation & Errors
The pages could be more organised. The text changed over many pages, and you had some errors with your coding that made a few of the pages look a mess.
Work on correcting those errors with your coding and those in your writing. Organise the pages better – you don’t need so many subpages.
Overall Comment
Your site wasn’t that great. I think you should improve on graphic quality and learn how to make more interesting effects with your graphics. You need to learn how to use colours that harmonise; not always taking them from the image. Colours that contrast are good.
You should fix your coding and work on your pages. Create more original content and don’t use celebrity graphics. Try somewhere like Freefoto or Stock Xchng. Remove all things that don’t belong to you and make sure you credit everyone and everything.
