Site Name
It’s quite generic – “strawberry” and “stars” are used a lot – but it’s simple and easy to remember.
Coding and Validation
Your HTML is valid.
I know you needed my help with that but it’s great you got most of it done on your own and that you decided to.
Your CSS is valid. You have a few warnings in this CSS file. Make sure that when you use float, you also specify width: #px. # being the width of course.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
According to Browsershots.org your site looks the same in most browsers.
It’s a bit hard to see the navigation on the image. It would be so much better if you used horizontal navigation. It would be clearer. If people had images turned off they would not be able to see your navigation.
Also, it would look better overall. The navigation blends in too much with the layout image and it would be better as text to allow the image and your site name stand out.
The font size is fine. The header for your blog titles could be a bit bigger to compensate, though.
Layout
Thanks for using my stock image!
The image looks stretched out too much. You should have resized it so the flowers don’t look so sretched out.
A more contrasting colour like white or a bright yellow would be more appropriate for the site name. This would make it stand out more.
The tagline, ‘my own epic drama…’ is really hard to see – I don’t know if that was intended.
I already mentioned the navigation. It’s quite a clutter now that I look at it. It looks quite messy.
The CSS is very good! The pale green background for the content is great. The other sections are also very nice. Do make your blog titles bigger though.
In your sidebar, ‘About Me’ is in capitals and the other titles are not. I don’t think ‘About Me’ is necessary. There isn’t much here at all, and people can just click ‘owner’.
Content
Owner
I’m sure you have to edit the part about your boyfriend here.
This page is very organised though, and very simple.
On the Awards and gifts page, you might want to space out the awards with an extra line break so they don’t look so squished.
Same for the joined page – space out the fanlisting buttons.
You might want to edit the ‘ask me’ page so that there’s a title on it.
You have the sub-navigation across the top of the ‘about me’ page but not on the others. If you put it on every page in this section, it would be easier to navigate.
Website
On this page you have a few errors:
After my self learning on should be After teaching myself
name.I should be name. I
Ice cream, It should be ice cream, it
things that surround should be things that surrounded
shortcut for should be short for.
You also should put the subnavigation on every page in this section.
Your contact page has a horizontal scrollbar. There’s a link saying ‘captcha code’ in the very top right of this page…? I suggest using NL-PHPMail for your forms.
does’nt work,please should be doesn’t work, please
The ‘ask me’ page is repeated here – you should just keep it in one section to avoid confusion.
Visitor
You only have one Plurk theme. I don’t use Plurk though. A thumbnail for the preview would be nice.
“WordPress Themes” leads back to your blog.
Bigger previews would be nice, for the Blogger themes.
The blank buttons are pretty boring and generic. They’re nice though.
The pixels and illustrations aren’t bad.
The wallpaper you have is a bit pixelated. Having wallpapers in other sizes (and of course, having more) would be better.
I just found your little Haimi bear. After filling in the form, I’m taken back to your homepage. To a ‘thank you’ or confirmation page would let me know the form was sent, and would be less confusing.
The icons aren’t bad, but they’re not very good either. You could use better effects. The ones of your own photos (I’m assuming) are quite faded and blurry. The quality isn’t very good. With the ones you made in Photoshop, you shouldn’t use effects that make them look blurry.
On your gradient tutorial:
the thing that I came up. should be what I came up with.
prefered should be preferred.
This tutorial is really interesting and unique! I have never seen anything like it. You should provide a screenshot of the dialog box that comes up when you press Ctrl+W though.
On the ‘win a domain’ competition page:
fill up should be fill out
I’ll have some should be I’ll make some
Goodluck should be Good luck.
You should rephrase this sentence on ‘guess that thing’:
All you have to do is to Identify what thing do you think is posted below.Maximum guesses is 2 .
It should be something like:
All you have to do is to identify what object you think is in the picture below. Maximum guesses is 2.
“Object” is better to describe this competition than “thing”.
Find Haimi – no problems here.
The interesting facts weren’t written by you so I won’t review it.
I don’t know if you wrote ‘The white rose and doll’ but if you didn’t, make sure you credit.
You should set out the services page in a more organised manner. Use some subheadings. Make bold the points you are making (such as not sharing information).
Originality & Creativity
You don’t have many original or creative things on your website. You have some standard but rather generic content. I understand that your site is mostly a blog site but if you are offering resources, make sure they are high quality.
I congratulate you on the ‘making gradients in Paint’ tutorial.
Organisation & Errors
Not too badly organised. Some pages could have the sub navigation as well. Everything was in its place, though.
Overall Comment
Your site is quite neat on the outside. On the inside a few things could be fixed.
The visitor content isn’t that great. You should work on this content. Perhaps a few WordPress themes or layouts would be more of your style? Your graphics aren’t that great, but you could make better layouts by keeping things simple. Your current layout uses too many different fonts.
Just improve on your content by optimising the quality when you save the images. Start with good quality images to result in a better quality result.
