The “I Love” Project

Every year since 2010 I celebrate my domain's birthday on the 11th October with some kind of project. In 2010, it was the 'Love is...' Project and you submitted your definitions of love. In 2011, you shared what it is that you love.

On the 9th October 2011, this design was released with a rotation above the sidebar with chosen submissions. Read more...

Site Name

It’s not bad – it’s easy to remember.

Coding and Validation

I’m sure you understand that I’ll have to leave the coding out of this review as you’re using a premade WordPress theme.

Browser Compatibility & Usability

Your website is looking consistent in Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome.

I would say that “blog” might be better expressed as “home”.

Layout

There’s not too much I can say here either. I do like the tagline of your website, and that you haven’t put in too many widgets/elements in the sidebar – I’d say you made a good choice with this layout as I know you enjoy writing and a simple yet professional theme was a good choice.

Content

Affiliates

Nothing much to say here. Someone has commented on the page asking to affiliate, but you have mentioned that you aren’t accepting. It would be a good idea to note this on the page itself.

Myself

You could fix a few mistakes on this page:
obbsesion should be obsession
Unfortunatly should be Unfortunately
obbsessed should be obsessed
practicly should be practically
best selling should be best-selling

Portfolio

On the “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” link, I don’t think there should be a question mark after Margaret.
On the review itself:
frusterated should be frustrated
realation should be relation
any one should be anyone
hardley hestitates should be hardly hesitates
sqealing should be squealing
awkard should be awkward
definatly should be definitely
Maragret’s should be Margaret’s
puperty should be puberty
expierences should be experiences
intruging should be intriguing

On the review of “I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You”, outloud should be out loud. Also, it isn’t so accurate when you refer to page numbers because books can be reproduced differently, with different print, size and binding.

I really like your haikus and “Escaped”!

I didn’t thoroughly read through your story, I’ll admit. I read through it pretty quickly but I think your writing style is terrific for someone of your age! I love the visual imagery that sets the scene in the beginning – I really think this is a terrific piece of work. There are a few mistakes I spotted:
like it should be liked it
making it’s way should be making its way

50 in 3

I like the title of this because it’s unique! I always like to see what people’s goals are from these kinds of lists. Looks like you’re doing well so far!
everyday should be every day

Originality & Creativity

I can’t say much about creativity but your writings are really good and obviously everything in terms of content is original. I just think you could add more – I know this is a blog and personal site, but you could include things like your most popular/featured posts, and of course, more of your writings. Some user interactivity with opinion pieces are good too!

Organisation & Errors

Well organised. No errors spotted; the only mistakes I found were from a few of your pieces of writing.

Overall Comment

There’s not much I can say about your website. For what it is, it’s alright. Just make sure you fix up your mistakes. I know you’ve been using premade layouts or themes and you have for a while but I think it’s time you really put some work into your own layout. I know it’s possible, and it is also a goal of yours so I encourage you to do it.

DearAgony has some good and basic templates you can try to edit, which should get you well on your way with designing something by you and that reflects you, because it will really make your writings stand out.

I’m glad to hear you liked my writings and the 50 in 3 page. I’ll be sure to fix the spelling mistakes. :)
