Site Name
It’s great, it’s easy to remember and unique.
Layout
I like the colours a lot. The stripes give it that simplicity while at the same time the flowers give it some elegance. It’s centered, which is excellent. I really like the choice of fonts and how the header backgrounds match the main background
The buff-coloured border around the layout looks very neat. The footer is nice as well, but the links on it could be organised better – perhaps shortening ‘FanUpdate 2.2.1′ to just FanUpdate or shortening ‘cpanel’ to CP would allow ‘hm’ (which I see is Hotmail) to be on the same line as the rest of the text, because it looks a little out of place on the next line.
The navigation is clear, but perhaps the text could be a little larger, about the same size as the headers and possibly be made bold. Also, the navigation can be moved up a bit, because there seems to be a rather large gap.
The CSS looks great, it matches the layout well, and the colour scheme is excellent. However I recommend making your underlined text and italic text BIGGER.
Your coding is not validated, and you have a lot of errors (see here). I assume that coding is your weakness. However a lot of these errors are just little, such as coding being in capitals or you are forgetting certain elements (as you’re using XHTML). This tutorial should be able to help you out.
Overall the layout is very appealing and welcoming and it’s very easy on the eyes. The only discrepancy I have is that it’s just a little too narrow. It’s 600 pixels and I think it could safely be 700-750, and still look alright on people whose resolutions are 800 by 600.
Content
Your sidebar is well organised, but ‘affliates’ should be affiliates. With the layout information, I don’t see what you mean by ‘Pictures from: nowhere’. You don’t mention brushes either – and I’m wondering where you got the flower image. Or even the background image. I think you should credit resources, even if they are yours, include something like ‘Pictures: my own’.
Your affiliates section is organised well. However I think that you should try and fit Wanna be one? Click here and more on the same line. The links both lead to the same page and it would look a lot neater if you had one link saying be one / more?
The Girl
You have a few grammar errors. There should be a comma after Sarah and Linda, for starters. In the following paragraph:
I’ve got all my friends here, my school and most of my family. I love travel, well not the exact traveling, but the places such as England, France, Spain, Denmark and lots more. I want to visit so many countries as possible in my life. I’m not afraid of airplanes or something, I just think it’s a bit uncomfortable…
This would be better as:
I’ve got all my friends, my school and most of my family here. I love travel – well not the exact traveling – but I like a lot of places such as England, France, Spain and Denmark. I want to visit as many countries as possible in my life. I’m not afraid of airplanes or anything, but I do think it’s a bit uncomfortable…
I don’t think I could live without should be ‘I don’t think I could live without it‘.
I play the piano and trying to teach should be ‘I play the piano and am trying to teach’.
people who damages should be ‘and people who damage’.
There should also be a period after resources.
I’m sure it’ll come more should be ‘I’m sure more will come‘.
On your ‘My History’ page, the content is too close to the header, and you could make the gap a little bigger.
was born a snowy day should be ‘was born on a snowy day’.
soo jealous on her should be ‘so jealous of her’.
Some of the things I did was should be ‘some of the things I did were‘.
bite should be bit
pushed her of should be ‘pushed her off‘
getting you believe should be ‘getting you to believe’
the only thing who shoould be ‘the only thing that‘
and putted it should be ‘and put it’
The round ones to should be ‘The round ones too‘
scheming for the age should be ‘scheming for her age’.
Wow, you’ve got a really interesting list! ‘Countrys’ should be Countries. And I’m sure you’ll love Australia, that’s where I live, and it’s beautiful =)
On your ‘Sarah’ page, She is born should be she was born.
Shes a hermelin should be She’s (with the apostrophe)
on English should be in English.
On your wishlist, I think is nice should be ‘I think are nice’; getting anything should be getting any.
Visitor
Again your content is a little squished towards your header. I suggest making that gap line up with your sidebar:

Your scripts are good. I can see you’ve taken the time to put them into .zip folders and make previews. However you should make a note at the top of your page as to how to use thetm, because a lot of people aren’t familiar with them – like me.
Your brushes all have very nice previews too, and your imagepacks are well spaced out. redisturbe should be redistribute.
Your smilies are all very cute! I think it would be better to show an example of how the animated ones animate, though. As for the colour palettes, they are good as well, but I’m not sure if credit is necessary because they’re colours and anyone could possibly come up with that colour scheme.
The fonts are organised well, and the previews are great. However I’m not sure if you should be redistributing these as they aren’t yours. Perhaps you should check to see if they can be distributed.
Your layouts are all great, they’re blended and edited well. They’re really quite amazing. My only concern is that you are using celebrity images which is illegal unless, of course, you are getting them from a legal source. You can find more information about that on my site’s article or at Anomalyd.
I like your icons and the fact that you have a few animated ones, but they really don’t look good amongst the rest of your icons. They look a little amateur and silly, for example the ‘She’s The Man’ ones. Also, with this one, I’m pretty sure ‘tuch’ isn’t a word, unless you mean touch. Also, you’ve got a lot of Paramore ones that look similar. They all look great, trust me, but, for example this one looks a little plain and you can’t really see much detail.
Your nature ones aren’t that impressive. Some of them don’t have anything to do with nature, like this one. It’s a pair of lips with candy! Maybe you should call this category ‘other’. Also the last few of your nature icons are too dark and not that appealing. Like this one. I’m sure all these would look great as layouts or something bigger, but not as these small icons.
Your second and third scan thumbnails are the same but the images are different. And a few of the scans aren’t of good quality – they have horrid orange lines across them, for example in this one. Also, a few of the thumbnails are not previews of the whole image – the last two on the second line, and your entire third row are all messed up. The thumbnails and actual image do not match.
I don’t like the previews like this, you should have a preview of the entire image so I can see what the whole thing looks like. With just a cropping, I don’t know if I want to use that image or not. Or maybe have these scans open in the same way as your layouts, as a slideshow.
Your icon textures are okay, but I don’t really like the harsh black and white ones. The textures are nice too, but I don’t really like the bright coloured ones.
I’m not sure what the mini blends could be used for. They’re too small to be used for a layout, but they look good.
Your wallpapers are nice. I prefer the ones in which you took the photo yourself.
In your HTML codes, Several image effects doesn’t should be ‘several image effects don’t‘. And marqee should be marquee. There is no need to write “Credit to whoever made them” because HTML is a language that is universally known, and most of these codes are basic.
In your saving tutorial:
havn’t should be haven’t
it’ll ruins should be it ruins
and got get all these dots and the colours gets messed should be and got all these dots and the colours get messed
The best formats is should be The best formats are
All they do is to ruin should be All they do is ruin.
Also, numerous times you have written ect when it should be etc for ‘et cetera’.
I am not confident that you should be offering tutorials when your coding isn’t valid, but your PHP tutorial is okay. Your done! should be you’re done. Also, instead of putting the askterisks (*) in and telling visitors to take them out, use < and > to display the tags, or use <pre> and </pre> to display HTML coding.
Your basic CSS tutorial isn’t very clear, as it doesn’t tell people how to use an external stylesheet. Your navigation position is the same. It’s not clear and there are better ways to do this. Also, with centered layouts it won’t work because the navigation will be misaligned in different resolutions.
I don’t think you should be offering Cutenews tutorials when Cutenews is a hackable, holey, insecure script! Plus, you use FanUpdate and it would make more sense to write tutorials for that. I suggest you remove these tutorials.
On your eye colour tutorial, till your satisfied should be ’till you’re satisfied’.
When your done should be ‘when you’re done’.
Your done! should be ‘You’re done!’.
On your makeup-touching tutorial:
Smooth to little than too much
Would be bettter said as: It is better to smooth too little than too much.
Your icon tutorials are okay, but I don’t see why you have to follow many steps for them, especially the first one. All just to make an icon, too.
In your About A Boy film review, you should have a comma after ‘we meet Will’ and ‘one of Will’s girlfriends’. Single Parents Alone Together should be capitalised.
The Site
I’ve had it should be ‘I’d had it’. As for exict I’m not sure if you mean ‘exist’ or not, but the URL results in a 404 error. I don’t think there is a need to include your old URLs. expencive should be expensive.
You also mention ‘candiihost’ and ‘Vicky’s site’ but you have not linked to these sites so I have no idea what you are talking about.
You spell ‘affiliates’ wrong on your affiliates page. It has the letter ‘i’ after the ‘f’. bo should be bo, Intressted should be Interested.
You spell ‘affiliate’ wrong yet again, on your contact form. You: affliate. Correct spelling: AFFILIATE.
Now I notice on your credits page there is a bigger gap between your content and header. Try to do this with all pages!
On your hosting page, an request should be a request. You again here have written ‘ect’ excessively when it should be ETC.
I notice some of your past layouts are available as layouts for visitors. You should be original – these are your old site layouts!
Ask Me
I didn’t think this was necessary as a part of the main navigation, it could have gone under ‘the girl’ or ‘the site’. Plus, there aren’t any questions asked, and you have an option in the sidebar.
Originality
I didn’t see much, only in a few of your wallpapers and icons, and in your layout. You use a lot of celebrity images which is really generic and something I see a lot of nowadays. To be original you need to step out of that zone and try something new.
Organisation/Errors
Just those spelling and grammar errors. There were a lot, so make sure you fix them! And just a few errors here and there. I didn’t see any broken links.
Overall comment
Inger, your site was impressive from the start, but over the course of your review I found that your site had a lot of generic content.
I found your layouts really amazing, and you certainly know how to use your programs. However I don’t think you should offer your previous layouts! Also, your graphics were excellent. I think that your site would be better without all those celebrity graphics, which you could eventually get in trouble for. I think your photography is great, and you should stop using celebrity images and take your own photos.
You had a lot of grammar and spelling errors, mostly which were typos, but they were a little annoying and I highly suggest you fix them. I also didn’t think your coding tutorials were as strong as your graphic and icon ones, and your Cutenews tutorials should definitely be removed.
I wish you the best of luck with your site, and try to move away from those celebrity images!
