It’s a nice name and it’s easy to remember.

Coding and Validation

Your HTML has 4 errors.

In a code in your sidebar, you have accidentally placed a slash in a link:

<a href="http://voltagebox.org/alive365/" target="_blank"/>

Your CSS has 2 errors and 8 warnings in CSS3.

You have written font: courier new when it should be font-family: "courier new". Similarly you must quote fonts with whitespace, such as “Century Gothic”.

Browser Compatibility & Usability

According to Browsershots.org your site looks the same in most browsers.

The navigation is fairly clear but I think a darker blue for the text colour, instead of white, would make it clearer to see.

There are no problems with the font size; it’s all quite easy to read.

Layout

It’s a nice layout and the colour scheme is very good. You’re using celebrity images though. You shouldn’t be using these images without permission from the photographer.

I like the scrapbooky style of the layout. It’s done quite often with the woodgrain background as well, but I like that you’ve added a slightly vintage look to the images. The background annoys me a bit though, because as I scroll down, I notice that it doesn’t tile very well. I also prefer backgrounds set as attachment: fixed when they are very textured and “busy”.

I like the font you’ve used in the header image and how you’ve kept it simple. However, it looks a bit tacky squished on the photographs in the background. For a more realistic look, the words should disappear “under” the photograph.

The information in the footer isn’t centered; it’s off to the left.

Content

On this page there are a few errors:

I’m not a fan of dynamic sidebars, and just because you have only one sub page here, it’s a bit hard to spot.

Domain

This would be better named as “Website” because not everyone is familiar with the term “domain”.

You have the incorrect name on this page. Also, the story should be paragraphed out to make it easier to read. I don’t really like the italicised “commentary” text; the colour is actually hard to read on the background.

On the advertisement page, free, almost should be free; almost.
Also, “stolen content” is broken up over two lines; you might want to fix that.
acception should be acceptance.

Instead of using “x” to link the resources on your past layouts page, you should link them with the name of the website.

You have a lot of small pages here, such as the link buttons and hostees pages; I don’t find it necessary for them to have their own pages. They could go on the main page, for instance.

On the Terms of Use page there are a few errors:

Resources

There are a lot of sub pages here, which I don’t find necessary. Though it’s easy to navigate around your pages with the sub navigation and breadcrumbs, the amount of subpages should be cut down.

Obviously the downloads aren’t by you; no comment here.

On the stock images page, this set were should be this set was. These photographs aren’t bad; the quality is okay.

The icons are rather simple but nice. The last two with text look a bi fuzzy and hard to read; opt for effects on the text such as a glow, to make the text stand out.

Nothing much to say about the animations. I don’t see how they’re useful.

You only have one background image. It’s rather simple; I’m sure you can make it in other colours too. The mini tutorial on this page is a good idea as well.

On the vBlogging tips article, clearly, don’t should be clearly; don’t.
This article is great; I haven’t seen many like this.

Tutorials

The PHP information tutorial is quite useful and unique; I haven’t seen one like it, though it is rather simple.

The PHPAskIt tutorial is good; it’s nice that you’ve shown how both WordPress and non-WordPress users can go about using it.

The rollovers tutorial is good. Maybe an example showing the result would be useful.

On your request page, there is a contact form error:

[contact-form 404 "Not Found"]

On the Photoshop tutorials page, Credits is appreciated should be Credit is appreciated.

On the WordPress prevent directory listing tutorial, snipet should be snippet.

On the site map tutorial, the link to your site map is a 404. This is a very useful tutorial though.

On the Lightview tutorial “This” does not link to an example of Lightview. It just links to an image.

Portfolio

There’s nothing much in the portfolio yet, but the vexel looks good.

Originality & Creativity

You had quite a few original pieces on your website, which was good. There was nothing overly genreic either. You might not have a lot of content but I can see you’re trying to be original. You also have a very creative layout; in future try not to use celebrity images, though.

Organisation & Errors

Very well organised. There were just a few minor errors, and mistakes in your writing, but they can be easily fixed.

Overall Comment

You’ve got a great website for someone who has just started doing their own work. I’m quite impressed.

You don’t have much content but I know you can improve on this. There are things you can tweak on the layout and improve on as well. More original, less generic content would be a great addition to your website. The tutorials you have are fairly good and explained fairly well.

You should build up on the resources. The ones you have are okay.

Overall you should fix the errors I pointed out, and add more content, especially to the portfolio, because there’s barely anything there.
