Site Name

I like the name! It’s very unique. “Ephemeral” sounds good on its own though, and I think you could have done without the hyphen.

Coding and Validation

Congratulations, your coding is valid HTML 4.01 Transitional!

I find this very impressive, because this is the first time I’m reviewing your site, and as your affiliate I remember quite a few of your layouts being premades.

Your CSS is valid! Great job Jorja! This saves me a lot of work, and shows you also care about the foundations of your site and not just the aesthetics.

Browser Compatibility & Usability

According to Browsershots.org your site looks okay in most browsers. It’s a good thing the layout is centered too!

Your navigation is easy to see, but the gaps between the links are a little big. Decrease the line height, at least.

The text is easy to read! The link effects on hover aren’t too sweet, though. They change too much. All that should change is the colour and maybe an underline – not the text transformation or font style. It dodges surrounding text too much and there’s too much movement.

Layout

I really love it. It’s original, and it’s colourful, which means that it’s something different and the colours will keep things more memorable.

I like the faded effect on the edges of the header image. It’s rather different from most images and makes the image stand out more.

You should use more colours from the layout in your CSS. A bit of that purple and a bit of green!

I love the clouds in the image but the writing is a little hard to read because it’s too small and squished in the clouds – the quote and the version name. The site title cloud is fine.

Everything otherwise looks organised and very neat! Well done!

Content

For your homepage and blog.. for a while I’ve been thinking that you really should get a content management system, but most aren’t able to be used on Freewebs. You should at least use Haloscan so people can comment on your blog! It sucks to be typing into a tagboard/cbox.

I’m jealous of your sidebar; you keep it so neat.

And I LOVE Armor For Sleep. I really, really, really love them! ‘Hold The Door’ is great.. but I’ve been loving ‘Raindrops’ for ages.

I love your writings! But you had so many on Rayfire! It’s a shame they’re gone, but I’m sure you’ll come up with more stories anyway!

I love your poems. I love any poems really, but it’s just very nice to read a friend’s!

For You

Going through the stock images now, I absolutely love the ones of the ducks. And the frog! They’re of good quality and they’re bright. They would be really useful! A couple of the other ones in this section are a bit blurry though.

I love the buildings and the ferris wheel photos!

All the photos are great. I’m just really liking the duck ones. The trees are pretty good as well. More of this stuff would be fantastic.

Good job on the little warning for your articles/rants.

I absolutely had a ball reading your articles that I feel the need to comment wherever I can.

Well, I know what school buses are like.. and I have long been planning to write an article called ‘the freaks on my school bus’ (when I was in high school). But you have a terribly good point about leaning on the glass.

Affiliates.. yes, your article is so true. I have seen this sort of article in different places but I love reading them anyway. Spread the word about those infectious tiny affiliate buttons!!

Gah, there is no word to describe the annoyance I feel when someone assumes I’m going out with a boy because we’re good friends. I don’t know who made up the dodgy thing about guys and girls not being able to be friends, but I wholly disagree.

Celebrity layouts – I’ve heard the deal on these, having my own article and all. But again I enjoyed reading.

CHAIN MAIL! FAR BLOODY OUT! It is in my face all the time. I’m alive and well, and I feel great! It’s a chant I used to sing in the choir in school. And I have always.. well, almost always, felt that way. I absolutely laugh at those fake emails telling me that Hotmail is going to charge people. So crap.

Hmm, ‘Far Too Eager’ brought up something I haven’t thought about in a while. I was 12 when I had my first boyfriend, but we actually talked and were friends. We never kissed or anything. But it annoys me how younger teens, or pre-teens, just hang out and say they’re boyfriend/girlfriend.
I don’t think it looks cool.
