I congratulate you on choosing a short site name, because your host’s URL is rather long. Zealous is a unique site name and easy to remember with nothing too fancy.
Coding and Validation
According to the W3C Markup Validation service, you have seven errors. The most important thing is that you don’t have a character encoding. You need this at the top of every document:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
You’re forgetting to end your <head> tag, otherwise your coding is pretty organised. Most of the other coding errors are unfortunately caused by the use of trailing backslashes that Cutenews automatically generates in the line break tag.
That is, instead of <br>, it is <br />. Trailing backslashes unfortunately aren’t used in your doctype (HTML 4.01 Transitional) but this is unavoidable due to Cutenews.
Your CSS only has one error! It’s caused by:
background-position: absolute;
‘Absolute’ is not valid, background position must be a value of percentage, even if it is 0%.
Overall fairly impressive coding. It shows that you know how to code properly, as most of the errors are not of your own accord.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
According to Browsershots.org your site looks okay in most browsers!
The navigation is uniquely placed and the default font is of a terrific size and
colour.
Layout
It’s designed to be aligned to the left, but I don’t really like layouts that do this
because there’s a huge space on the right.
It’s a nice layout and the width is good. I like the style of the layout, it’s very
unique. The binder-type design on the right is nice and it’s pleasing rather than seeing
the generic chop of a side layout.
I really like the navigation and it’s very clear. No sidebars, which is a change from
what I review.. I guess they’re overrated sometimes.
I like the authentic notebook look that the layout achieves, everything’s pretty much in
its place, except the text ‘I’ll be waiting for you’ looks a little random.
Overall a good layout. I really like the colours and it’s wonderful how you’ve done the
CSS, the colours all work very well.
Content
Visitor
The one thing that annoys me is that I click on ‘icons’, only to be taken to another
page of links. This is rather unnecessary and though it’s organised, it creates unnecessary
subpages. Just get to the icons!
The anime icons are not bad. Thumbs up on the organisation. You really should credit the
resources you used so I’m hoping they’re in the credits.
Using celebrity images is

are a little generic.
Brushes are not bad, try adding variation and not just text in different fonts.
Again the navigation with the layouts; don’t make an unnecessary subpage. Why would
visitors want to click again to see what they want?
The thumbnails should really be of the whole layout, not just a cropping.
Most of these layouts are aligned to the left. Boring stuff, add variation! You have a few
broken Photobucket images on some of the anime layouts.
Also, a few of the layouts are old and have ‘strawberryrunners’ printed on them.
Another low note is that you’ve split a lot of the layout into separate images. It’s better to have it as one image, or the browser will have to send multiple HTTP requests, one for each image, which commonly results in timing out a broken image, so consider just one image file.
Again credit the resources. You’re using celebrity images again. I don’t like the Christina Aguilera layout, the layout header is much too large. The background for the Jonas Brothers layout doesn’t match the colour of the background of the image itself. Same with the rose layout under miscellaneous.
The layouts are not bad but some of them aren’t 100% impressive either.
Please credit the resources for the wallpapers. Same thumbnail note applies here.
“These fonts are (c) to zealous.la-renaissance.org”? Really? You created them yourself with a font program, making each character yourself? I’ll be doubtful. If they’re not, you could be in trouble for claiming them as your own and distributing them.
Portfolio
It’s a portfolio so I can’t really say anything about your work as it’s just for display. The banners look pretty old.
On the Art page, you should write ‘click the names to open the content’, because it took me a while to realise they were JavaScript content menus. And what with the I made? There are three of you!
Same JavaScript note applies on your other portfolio pages.
Bookmarks are a nice idea. You’ve got some pretty good stuff in this portfolio.
You shouldn’t offer your past layouts! A lot of these I recognised from the visitor section. Try and be unique; you don’t want anyone else with those layouts!
Zealous
This section would be better named as ‘site’.

Originality & Creativity
Pretty original and creative layout. Your site had a lot of creative things.
I couldn’t say anything was original apart from your layout. You had a fair deal of generic content – icons, wallpapers, layouts. And they pertty much were all anime and celebrities. Nothing too unique here.
I did like your portfolio, they had a lot more original things – only a few writings though. Kisliin blogs pretty well so some articles or writings from her would be nice.
Organisation & Errors
Pretty well organised! I didn’t find any broken links, which is also good.
There were a few spelling/grammar/punctuation errors but they can be easily fixed and it’s not such a problem.
Overall Comment
I’ve never heard of so many people (well, three) owning a site. The only thing that puzzles me is why are Louise and Bboy mentioned at all? It seems that they do nothing, compared to all that Kisliin has done. Have they done anything?
Your site was a pleasure to review, I didn’t have major problems with it. Your layout was pretty impressive, but a lot of your content was generic. I’d like to see more graphics in a similar style to your layout.
Cut down on the celebrity graphics and add more unique things like sketches in your graphics. Step out of the circle you have now and make less generic stuff.
I don’t have many suggestions, just add stuff and tweak what you’ve got now and your site will be great!
