Site Name

It’s not really that interesting at all, but it’s easy to remember.

Coding and Validation

Your coding has 72 errors and 45 warnings.

It isn’t your coding because it’s not your layout, but I thought I’d make you aware of the vital parts of an HTML document which are missing. You’re missing a doctype, character encoding, not to mention the complete absence of <html>, <head> and <body> tags. Whoever coded the layout really needs to go back to the beginning and pick up the basics.

Your CSS has 12 errors and 8 warnings, not to mention should be put into an external stylesheet for ease of loading and use.

There are numerous parsing errors and forgotten symbols in very basic CSS coding – watch where you’re putting semicolons and closing brackets, and hashes for hex colours. And watch those values!

Browser Compatibility & Usability

Your site is navigable and functions in Firefox, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer.

Your text is so small; it’s barely readable. I don’t know why you have your pages with centered text, when by convention, you should write with left-aligned text.

I don’t know why you have “navigation” and “content” listed in the sidebar. It is very confusing. “Content” should be called “Resources” or something – “content” tends to be a bit misleading and generally refers to all the content on your site. The good thing is that you have noted which pages open in MySpace.

Layout

As much as I would like to comment on the layout, your layout wasn’t created by you so I won’t be reviewing it since it isn’t your work. But the CSS could be improved a great deal. More padding around text and headers would be appropriate.

Content

I won’t be reviewing the external links that lead to MySpace.

On the page about you, there should be a colon after “addictions”.

I’m not sure what that band graphics are for. But they’re not your images are they – you didn’t take these photos. You should give credit for them. And if they’re simply cropped, then I don’t see why you’re offering something someone can make easily themselves.

On the content signs page it is very hard to tell what colour the links are. You should make the links a different colour to the regular text. Instead of linking to the signs, you should display them directly on the page. It will save the visitor having to click links and keep going back.

I can’t really review the fiction; they all link to a Mibba, which is not on your site, and I can’t view them. That’s good you put up the notice on your site though.

The flair buttons are nice, but did you make them yourself at all? I did notice someone having these buttons and simply “finding” them. If you did not make them yourself, by editing the image, then these are not yours and you shouldn’t be distributing them on your site.

Nothing much to say about the fonts. You didn’t make them and you’re just displaying them on your site.

Nothing to say about free support.

The “Guess The Celebrity” page, though on MySpace, is private.

The icons are okay in quality – but there’s nothing much to them at all. They just look like cropped images. Where are the effects and designs and textures and text – I don’t see any of these. They’re not really icons at all. It is very easy to crop an image.

There are no layouts because they are “up soon”.

With the love icons, you should remove the ones you “found on Photobucket”. Those don’t belong to you and you should not be redistributing them. The ones you made are simple, but nice, and there is no reason for you to be taking other people’s work and putting it on your site.

Marquees are very annoying. They move, obviously, and are distracting. You are also displaying code incorrectly. Your code should be displayed with <code> following conversion with a converter to convert the HTML into its entities – like so:

<code>&lt;code&gt;a href="http://google.com">Google</a>&lt;/code&gt;

You should also be crediting for the movie images… you don’t own these either; I’m sure they’re simply cropped screenshots from movies.

You didn’t know or write these phobias yourself. Credit your source.

While the idea of having tutorials as an image allow for creativity, it is much better to have them as text. It is easier to read, with more flow, and can be indexed better by a search engine.

I have not seen many Photofiltre tutorials but these are okay. They look quite simple though.

On the profile codes page intrests should be interests. I assume these are for MySpace? As handy as they are though, those profile elements were meant to be there for a reason, and promoting these codes is not exactly ethical.

Nothing much to say about quotes.

Buttons are okay… as I mentioned earlier, you need to display your code correctly.

I can barely see the headers on a few of your pages – the grey is too light to see.

The one and only wallpaper you have is very small. If this is supposed to be a wallpaper for computers, then it’s far too small. It should definitely be bigger – some of the more common resolutions are 800 by 600 pixels, 1024 by 768 pixels and a wider screen of 1280 by 800.

The FTP tutorial isn’t too helpful – a program is also preferred as opposed to a website. Websites may not be as secure.

You have punctuation mistakes in the tutorial on “shortcut” – I don’t even understand that. There are obvious red lines under the incorrect words – this also looks unprofessional. it’s should be its; you are referring to the header’s file; it is possessive and is not short for “it is” in this context. Additionally, dont should be don’t.

Originality & Creativity

I’m not sure if there really was anything original on your website. I liked the icons you made, but other than that, you had graphics that weren’t really interesting. Icons weren’t even edited much and no effects were added.

I see you’re a MySpace-driven site but that isn’t really an excuse to have boring graphics. You can definitely make graphics more interesting with a bit of editing. I’m not sure of your abilities but you could start by making your own layout.

Organisation & Errors

Organisation was okay, but you really lacked any sort of content on your site, with many of the pages under construction.

Overall Comment

I didn’t see much on your site at all. The layout looks alright but the thing is that that wasn’t made by you, and I have no idea of your sense of coding. You had a lot of things under construction, and nothing much on your website.

Even as a MySpace website, I expected more. It would be an idea to display content on your website – it makes your site look more central and more special to offer the graphics/whatever else. Also, all the MySpace pages were set to private. I think there is a lot you could still do on your website. I don’t really have much to say, but it just looked like your website was incomplete and unfinished.
