I like the name Piano Girl, even though there are many site names with ‘girl’ in it. Piano Girl sounds very elegant, though. I have to say that I don’t really like the hyphen because you already have two dots from your domain extension which makes the extra characters a little annoying to type.
Coding and Validation
Okay, this is pretty crazy, but I am unable to see if your HTML coding is validated. When I punch in your website at W3C Markup Validator, an error occurs. Not such a big deal. I look at your source code and your coding seems relatively okay. 
Your CSS has no errors and I’m pleased to see it in your footer, though you could link it to the report. Congratulations. I’m very impressed. Not many people I review have validated CSS.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
Your site is okay in all browsers according to Browsershots.org. Well done!
The navigation is very clear, which is excellent. I had absolutely no problems with it.
Layout
I love the header image and the subtle brushes. The one on the right is a little too “heavy” compared to the other one though, and I don’t really like how the brushes just get cut off at the bottom of the header image. It’s not that noticeable but it would’ve been nice to have it fade out a little bit.
The blue gradient looks lovely. Your stylesheet is fairly good and I love the blues and pale beige colour that add that little bit of contrast. I am not sure about the pink that you use in your header text, though. It’s too harsh and doesn’t match. Also, the colour of links in your sidebar don’t really stand out compared to the blue text, so change just the sidebar links to make them more obvious.
It only appears on your homepage, but the horizontal rule above your FanUpdate credit stands out too much and should be removed. You also have a question mark where I assume your copyright sign would be. I’m not sure if you just copied and pasted the character, but try typing © to make sure that symbol comes up.
Overall your layout was very simple and very nice. The gradient was done well. It was all very easy on the eyes. Great job!

I just have to comment on your simple sidebar. I really like it and only wish I didn’t have so much stuff crammed into my own!

Aww, I love the photos! I don’t like the border colour though. They are a purple colour and should be a light blue, like the text on your sidebar. You should add some line breaks before your ‘Pointless Facts’ header, it looks a little squished.

Sorry to say that! But I guess if making websites has helped, your spelling/punctuation would have been worse before! It’s looking quite good actually! I can’t imagine it would have been worse. You only seem to make a few rushed mistakes
It may also be an idea to italicise the television shows you mention – eg. Friends.

Laura, your website, through it’s name and your content and blogs, really reflected your personality and I liked that. I love how you include film reviews as well as offering site reviews.
Your film reviews are great, and it’s lovely that you set a goal of 100 movies! Good luck with that. I like reading your reviews because it really shows your opinion and shows you’re a friendly webmistress.
Thank you for allowing me to review your site. The only suggestions I would have is to obviously expand your site – write more film reviews, maybe on all your films. Cut out the celebrity graphics as well. Your layout is lovely, future layouts in a similar style will definitely be as impressive as this one.
And no pink in the CSS! It doesn’t match!
