Site Name
Mirotic is a great site name that is extremely unique. I like how it’s one worded and short. Preferable if your URL fits accordingly, but it’s your name so that’s fine.
Coding and Validation
Your coding is excellent, and it’s validated as XHTML 1.0 Strict. Great job, and nice to see you’ve included the link in your footer.
Your CSS however has five minor errors. One of them is on this stylesheet – you have made a small error:
text-decoration: one;
should be
text-decoration: none;
You can see the other errors by checking your website at the W3C CSS Validation Service.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
Your site is okay in most browsers according to Browsershots.org.
The navigation is nice at the top of the page. It stays there, which is nice – I was a little surprised but pleased to see that. TUTORIAL should be TUTORIALS. I also suggest making this text a bit bigger. After all, it is the navigation. Even your headers are bigger than that!
Layout
The header image is very nice. I like the mix of colours and how they blend. The hexagonal brush gives it a nice touch. The graphic is nice and not too plain.
The background is really nice and matches very nicely with the header. I like how it’s fixed. But it does take a while to load.
I think “Mirotic” is in a nice suitable font and the mirror effect is lovely, but the mirrored text could be made less obvious.
The headers for the content and sidebar are nice, but the fact that they both have decorated elements – the content ones with flowers and the sidebar ones with butterflies – looks too much. Especially with the sidebar being narrower, the big butterflies look a little cramped particularly at the top – where the Google search is located. I would recommend getting rid of the butterflies in the sidebar and alternatively using them for the content headers.
I like how the link backgrounds are a pale beige. The rest of your CSS is great, and the site overall looks well styled, apart from those butterflies. Just a bit too much.
Content
I have issues with your sidebar.. mainly because of the order. Your “buddies” – I’m assuming are link exchanges, affiliates or friends – are right at the bottom of your sidebar. After your recent posts, recent comments, categories, archives, and even Google ads and a calendar. They deserve to be somewhere near the top! Right after the Google ads, if you must.
I also don’t think the calendar is necessary – you already have a bunch of recent posts! And the archives aren’t necessary either. To be honest, a lot of this stuff can go. I would keep just the categories and recent posts. People don’t usually look at the archives of a blog. And if you want them to, it’s simple to link them to a previous blog for reference.
I don’t know the difference between “Buddies” and “Loved”, but “Loved” has only one link and I don’t think that looks too good. I’m sure you would be able to put that “Loved” link with the “Buddies” and rename it? Because the headers look too squished with only one link in them. That is also the main problem – squishage in your sidebar headers.

A few grammatical errors:

Some little informations should be A bit of information

On your ‘The Owner’ page, your heading says Rin Takase – but why do you type your name as RiN (yes, with a capital “N”)? It’s a little confusing. Choose the way you write your name, then stick with it.
A nice page. A short and concise one too. I see you like your emoticons (^_^)v However, you have some errors:

Instead of saying 2X years old, say in her twenties. And instead of ‘loved’ and ‘hate’, put ‘loves’ and ‘hates’. It shows what you currently love/hate at the moment as it’s in present tense.
Also, Male. I’m not a less____.. took me a while to understand. You’re better off saying Boys. I’m not a les____ (yes, I believe the word you’re looking for is “lesbian”. And trust me, I don’t think you are one.
Oh, a few more errors on your ‘The Site’ page:
korean should be Korean
korean language should be the Korean language
english should be English
This inspire should be This inspired
magical should be magic.
I love this site history. So very simple, and I love how you describe the reason you chose Mirotic giving you that feeling of serenity. For me it certainly does!
Kudos for why you are crediting the people and websites. Well done. Normally people just give you a massive list
.
On your ‘Contact’ page, I appreciate you to should be I’d appreciate it if you could.
I love the link buttons! The text on the two smallest ones looks a bit dodgy though. And the HTML code would look better in a textarea or a blockquote.
You don’t have a lot of exchanged links at the moment so I suggest you remove the letter subheadings. It’s nice they’re in alphabetical order, but not with the headers. At least not now. Some letters are empty. The whole thing is too cluttered. Please remove the headers!
Visitor
On this page of links, a few errors:
your site can apply to get reviewed should be you can apply to get your site reviewed
for your to plug should be where you can plug
simply converter should be simple converter.
I don’t think your ‘Currently Being Reviewed By’ page should go here. It’s nothing to do with the visitor, and in fact, when I was looking for my link it took me a while to find it because I expected it to be in the ‘Site’ section.
These glitter fills are obviously better than anything I could do (lack of patience here). But I don’t really like any of them. There’s too much transition from one frame to another – too much change, too jerky. Especially in the final transparent set. The first two sets are okay, but the colours aren’t great. The black and white is too contrasting. For the colours, try another shade of that colour, rather than white. Same for the second set.
Your review rules are very fair and not so rambly like mine. Now I feel bad
.
This birthday thing is always a nice idea.. but it’s sort of overdone now. Unless you’re actually going to give out gifts or something.
This plugboard site list is not really useful. It’s really just a list of sites.. yes. So it’s not exactly great content.
You didn’t write this Code Converter script, obviously. It’s a nice thing to have on your site but it’s not exactly original. Ditto for the lowercase converter.
Tutorials
This page should be labelled Tutorials (like I mentioned above). Also, please capitalise CSS, PHP and FTP. Free and Good Hosts should be Good Free Hosts to be more grammatically correct.
On your ‘Banning ip’ tutorial, your notepad should be Notepad. And you should also specify that it’s the ip you wish to block.
I don’t usually like music on a site at all. Your choice if you want to have a tutorial, though. On your ‘Removing Adverts’ page, html should be HTML. I don’t think these are great because the ads are there for a reason, but yes, they’re annoying.
On your ‘Stop Direct Linkers’ tutorial:
permissions should be permission
causing should be causes
free hosted should be hosted free
your notepad should be Notepad.
BIG CLAP for keeping the credit on the Javascript!
On your ‘Downloads’ tutorial:
to download just should be just to download
you’ve should be you’re.
On your ‘Custom Error Pages’ tutorial:
your Notepad should be Notepad
to use php should be to use PHP
document which you’ve wrote should be documents which you’ve written.
I don’t really see the point of the ‘Custom Index Page’ tutorial. If you just make a file called index.htm.. it will be the index page. =S
The ‘Stop Direct Linkers with Images’ tutorial should be merged with your other tutorial on stopping direct linkers.
Your CSS tutorials are good, but the sections are so short they should be condensed into one or two sections. Also, on this page, you’re incorrect:
The hex colour code for black is not #000. It’s #000000. Why’s it called “hex”? Because “hex” is short for hexadecimal and the prefix “hex” means “six”.
Please make sure that you write PHP and not with just one capital letter or all in lowercase. It’s more correct in capitals (unless you’re saying .php as a file extension).
Your PHP includes tutorial is great. Easy to follow and understand. Very nice that you’ve included a sample page in HTML. Also, capitalise HTML!
On ‘Finding Your Absolute Path’:
Create a new notepad should be Open a new Notepad document.
Nice that you’ve included ‘related topics’ at the bottom of your FTP tutorials.
On your ‘Login’ tutorial:
got should be get
you your should be you with your.
On your ‘Adding files’ tutorial, try to take a screenshot of more than just your files. It’s a little hard to see the dragging motion.
On your ‘Earn Money Online’ tutorial.. hang on. Why is this under the ‘tutorial’ section? It’s not really a tutorial – doesn’t tell you how to do anything. So put it in the visitor section. This is a good article, just a few errors:
adsense should be AdSense
who has should be who have
one ads should be one ad
per ads should be per ad
different computer should be different computers.
Host should be Hosts in all your headings. Please capitalise HTML too.
when I started should be since I started
1GB should be 1GB of space.
This tutorial should also go in the ‘visitor’ section.
Originality & Creativity
Your site was quite original, Rin. The tutorials were a little too common, but your layout was very lovely and unlike anything I’ve seen before.
Organisation & Errors
Not many problems with organisation – just try not to use too many of your decorative headers, and fix up your sidebar. Too many headers there, and you should prioritise your affiliates.
No broken links found – well done. Just fix up your grammar and punctuation errors, please.
Overall Comment
A strong and well kept site you have here, RiN. The layout is lovely but it takes a long time to load. It’s over 500KB in size. Try using a .JPEG cruncher or adjusting the background so it tiles. 500KB is too big.
You have a fair bit of decent content. Most of your tutorials are great, but others are just copy and paste codes. You have some graphics but they’re not that great. I have not seen examples of other graphics apart from your layout, but I would like to see visitor content similar to your lovely layouts.
You need to organise things a little more – don’t put a tutorial on a page if it’s so short. Try and combine it, or just leave it out until you have something to add. Don’t use too many headers! And put your “Reviewers” list in your Site section. That’s really where they should be, as they have nothing to do with the visitor.
Some suggestions would be to firstly fix the errors I’ve mentioned, and don’t make your background such a huge file size. Your content’s great – a few more graphics in a similar style to your layout would be nice.
