Normally, xs in site names bother me, and so do names – but yours never really bothered me at all.

Coding and Validation

Your coding has 3 errors.

The errors are quite small! You don’t really need <noscript></noscript>.

The script language in your Freewebs banner code is annoying and causing errors. See this part:

It would be validated if it was like this:

Your CSS is valid.

I suggest trying an external stylesheet to make layout changes easier. You use server side includes, apparently, so perhaps you won’t really need to.

Browser Compatibility & Usability

Looking at your site at Browsershots.org, your layout is looking consistent in most browsers.

The layout isn’t too wide, the text is easy to read, and the navigation is clear and not too small. Great job!

Layout

Very cute. I love how you use photos of cats. So adorable.

The layout is centered – top job. And I love how you’re not using the conventional sidebar. Something very different.

The header image has very similar effects to your previous layout. You seem to have a very nice style going on. I really like the effects you’ve used, and how the cats sort of stand out in a coloured glow.

I like the subtle addition of butterfly brushes and the blur of the text of your site name. Very nice!

I absolutely love the use of different colours here. Also a very unusual combination of colours. Yellow, blue and green. Outstanding. And the CSS matches perfectly. I can’t find anything bad about your layout! It’s very neat, clean, compact and organised.

Very organised page; thought I’d just comment on that.

A couple of your affiliates’ buttons have borders. You can remove them by adding border="0" to the image tag. Also, a couple of these buttons aren’t the same size so you might want to resize them.

No! Site history is being revamped. Disappointing. I came by last week or so and noticed this.. hurry up with that page.

The banners are just beautiful. The only idea I have for their use is a layout though – so maybe offering coded layouts with these would be great. And more useful.

You only have one blend.. which is really just like a banner. It’s very nice, though.

I’d just like to add, it’s very considerate for you to provide a link to the image as well.

Gosh. Not the evil things called “blogs”. They aren’t called blogs – a blog is obviously an online weblog. I think these could be removed – they’re old, and I suppose you could say “Piczo-ish”. They’re not as good as your banners! And of course they are rarely used.

The miscellaneous graphics are okay. They seem to be just a display of works.

Yes, yes, yes. Very true. Enter pages are dumb. The photos of the cats suit the signs so well though.. but I must say it. Remove these! Make them into banners instead. Your wonderful banners.

Originality & Creativity

You seem to love cats! I have never seen a site showing such love for cats. It’s very original. I usually find it boring when someone’s site focuses on one subject or thing, but yours was great to go through.

Definitely some creativity. You have a good sense for design. I am impressed by your graphic skill.

Organisation & Errors

No problems here! I think I hyperventilated over the use of an apostrophe, but that was it.

Overall Comment

Your site is great. High quality graphics, good coding, good organisation. There was nothing much to complain about, except those signs being a bit pointless.

Add more graphics. You would do a fantastic job with making layouts. I also would like to see tutorials on how you make your graphics and give it that individualistic style.

Baiscally, you just need to work on more content.

I believe you are moving to a subdomain soon. I would still love to see more of your banners and more new things, but still with your great style.

On a side note, I don’t know if you’re going to keep the name Sparkie, but you did mention that people sometimes don’t take it seriously. I don’t want to inflict on your personal opinion but perhaps that could change?
