Faked Tragedyy is a really nice site name, but a few things are bugging me about it!
Well, the extra ‘y’. I know it looks great and it’s maybe a little ‘out there’ – but it makes things look too long.
Often I keep thinking it’s Fake Tragedyy – not Faked. It’s a long name along with your host’s URL, but all in all it’s a great name.
Coding and Validation
When I run your site through the W3C Markup Validation service you have 45 errors. Not so bad compared to others, but you have a few major issues.
No doctype and no character encoding! Swetlana dear, these are essential for a HTML document! This is just what you need at the top of EVERY page:

I have derived those from what is best suited to your coding. Also, I notice that your coding is not by yourself, but by Vibeke of VEJC-design. It’s nice you keep the credit on but that unfortunately means that I can’t review your coding as it isn’t yours.
Even if it was a template I can’t be too sure if you understand the errors I may point out, so I’ll be brief with your coding here.
Your CSS has 36 errors. You have a few blank values like these:
background: #;
background-color: #;
Other problems are caused by your coloured scrollbar. You shouldn’t have one; Internet Explorer is the only browser that can view coloured scrollbars. They can cause errors, as seen in your CSS, and aren’t that necessary anyway.
In other parts of your CSS, you are forgetting to use } to close some sections.
Browser Compatibility & Usability
According to Browsershots.org your site looks the same in almost all browsers, at least the common ones. However it doesn’t look the same in all screen resolutions. It may seem centered in your resolution, but as I have a fairly large resolution I get a white edge on my screen, as you can see here.
To achieve a centered look, try using div containers. You can use this tutorial from Tutorialtastic.
Your font size is great and it’s readable and the colour is easy to read; black on white.
Navigation is clear but it would be better if it was before the welcome message – too far down the sidebar isn’t good.
Layout
Not bad – no celebrity images, well done. I hope the image is from a free source or was used with permission. Including layout credits in the sidebar is a good idea.
Header is not too high – good job there too! The colours are very nice and the blue background is a nice solid simple colour. The layout looks simple as well, which is good.
The CSS colours are nice – the green and yellow are good colour choices but the yellow in the sidebar headers could be lightened a bit.
The fonts are good choices but there isn’t much variation. A different font for the headers would be a good idea.
Overall a very simple layout that is easy on the eyes and also unique and interesting.
Content
I don’t think the welcome message is necessary. People usually just want to go straight into your site! And don’t say ‘there isn’t that much on my site’; you don’t want to give people the impression that your site is unfinished already!

This page was well done and kept quite short. I like how you’ve listed your likes and dislikes down the page and not just put them one after another.
Content
This page should be called ‘Visitor’. ‘Content’ actually refers to the contents of your site, and that could be anything – your owner information and site information included.
useage should be usage.
Your graphics link leads to another page of links. You don’t need these unnecessary subpages and it’s annoying for a visitor to click a link, only to be taken to a page of links again. Try to minimise the use of such subpages – put blends, miniblends and icons as links on your ‘Content’ page.
Again your blends link leads to a subpage, which is unnecessary.
The thumbnails for these blends are nice, but generally a thumbnail of the whole image is preferred. I have to click on the thumbnail to see what the blend really looks like. These blends are all quite nice but a few of them are old and have your old site URL on them.
Most of these are saved in .jpg format but aren’t of good quality. Maximise the quality or consider saving in .png format, because a couple of the blends are blurry in certain places.
Miniblends – again, try to cut down on the subpages. Your blends are nice but these miniblends are pretty much useless to me. Too small for a layout; what can they be used for? Use your skills in your bigger blends.
The icons are nice but some are just not that good. For example, your Nicole Scherzinger ones are plain – just look like effects have been put on a cropped image. Add text to them like you do with the others, otherwise they’re better off being called icon bases.
Get rated? Is this some kind of reviewing service? If so, you need to be more specific on this page. What are you rating? A site, or a graphic..? And are you just giving a rating out of 5 stars, or 10 stars, or giving some critique? Be specific here, girl!

This is a useful page and you have very valid points. I’m pleased.
On your Need any Help page, you only have a cbox. I am taking it that no one’s responded or asked for help because your site’s new. But it might be an idea just to accept emails asking for help, because a cbox isn’t going to work so well.

I didn’t see originality apart from your layout unfortunately. You have a lot of celebrity images in your content which is actually illegal.
I didn’t see much evidence of creativity but I did see potential through your blend designs. Try to expand your originality; use less celebrity graphics and come up with original and unique content.
Organisation & Errors
Your English is very good for someone born in Russia and who lives in Germany! I didn’t find a great deal of errors in your spelling, grammar or punctuation.
Fairly well organised but you could really cut down on the subpages.
No broken links were found – well done!
Overall Comment
Swetlana, you have a lovely small site and it’s very good for a new one. You have good graphic skills, but your coding isn’t too great.
Your visitor content is good and would keep visitors coming back. But try something a little more original – because celebrity blends – it’s been done before.
My suggestions would be to add more content for visitors because that’s what your site focuses on, and to cut down on the subpages. Your site is doing very well and you seem to keep it updated. Well done, and good luck with the site!
