Site Name

I love your site name! I think it’s great that it’s a mix between tiramisu and your last name, because it makes it more personal. I am a big fan of one-worded site names. Tiramisyu sounds elegant and lovely.

(I like tiramisu too.)

Coding and Validation

Your coding has 24 errors, which surprises me. Most of the errors are due to scripts or WordPress plugins. You can run your site through the W3C Markup Validation service.

Your CSS is validated, well done! :D

Browser Compatibility & Usability

Your site looks the same in almost all browsers according to Browsershots.org, well done!

Navigation is clear and stands out. It’s close to the top of the page which is good. And it’s text, so no problems if images are disabled for whatever reason.

Layout

You’ve requested your reviewers to review your fourth skin; that’s the only one I’ll be looking at, even though your skins are all great.

The layout loads really fast. I like the way this layout is set out. It’s pretty unique. The navigation’s in a good place. I like the layout image. It’s very interesting. The layout seems to show off your coding skills rather than your graphic skill because the graphic is fairly simple.

The only thing that really bugs me about your layout is that when you have only a bit of content on the page, there’s just your light beige background under it, and your sidebar keeps going. Looks a little funny, on your advertising page for example.

The CSS is colourful, and sets a good mood. It has variation which is quite nice. The links are not annoying and they don’t shift or move. :)

Overall, very unique layout, and very well made.

Content

Your sidebar ads.. eek. I think you don’t need that button for your domain contest; you already have a text link. There’s so many buttons here. I think it looks a little cluttered.

I don’t think the contact form is necessary, because you have a shoutbox-thing as well. Consider putting the contact form on its own page. Your affiliates deserve to be way up there! :P

I don’t like the idea of the shoutmix box. It’s like a second guestbook – people can comment on your blogs already. If you must have it, I think you should put it on its own page.

NOOO, none of this belong to their respective photographers, companies etc stuff. Credit properly. That means, link to your credits page and credit EVERYTHING.

Domain

Well organised page.. I know you hate corrections but it’s my job and I am an English-freak:
favorite should be favourite
mozilla firefox should be Mozilla Firefox.
Personally I think you should capitalise your hosts as well.

With the reviewers, have them either as buttons or links, so it looks neater.

I’m not really liking your &001s and numbered links. I keep clicking the text instead of the number next to it. A little confusing.

Congratulations on the credits – it’s great that you’ve specified what you’ve used. You should also credit WordPress and the programs you use.

On your affiliates page:
a affiliates should be an affiliates
i should be I.
I know you hate capitalising your Is but you’ve done it a few times, why not all? :(

A dead link on your link exchange page. Instead of going to affie.php, it goes to affies.php.

Owner

NOOOOOOO WENDY. More uncapitalised Is

Hmph. Well too bad, I’m running through your punctuation errors:
im contemplating should be I’m contemplating
isnt should be isn’t
doesnt should be doesn’t
alot should be a lot
Turquoise should be turquoise.

And of course, your Is. Well done on keeping this page short and sweet; I have trouble not writing about myself. Shame about your boobs, haha. I hate mine because they’re too big. :P

Goods

I’m annoyed at your links still. Too small, just linking the number. I’d prefer it if you linked the text.

On your stock icons pages:
color should colour
that has should that have
You should also link to your resources, not just give the site name. These icon stocks are all very nice, very lovely. They look nice on their own without even adding anything.

On premade layouts:
much should be many
i’m should be I’m
every so often should be every now and again
i’ll should be I’ll
css should be CSS.
These premade layouts are beautiful. The horizontal one I don’t like as much as the other one. Another thing that bugs me is how you split the image up. More image requests from the server means the layout will ultimately take a longer time to load – which is why it’s best to have it as one whole image.

The colour palettes – too common. I see them everywhere and I’m pretty bored of them; I myself wouldn’t use them either.

Icon textures are lovely. They look great, just as good as your icons.

Photoshop actions are good. Instructions on using would be a good idea.

Advertising – Wendy, have you looked at this page? It’s tiny! You should include here who you’re advertising, and maybe a form or comments would be good here.
preferable should be preferably
there should be here
recieve should be receive
24hours should be 24 hours
i should be I.

On your hosting page:
recieve should be receive
choosen should be chosen
wordpress/fanupdate should be WordPress/FanUpdate
On going should be Ongoing
indicate it the should be indicate the.
You have very reasonable rules. You have a form on this page so I don’t see why you couldn’t include it on other pages.

Accepting layout requests is a great idea as it shows you’re a nice owner and that you’re willing to help people. Your first paragraph:

Here you can request a custom made layout just for you. I’ll only be making the layout headers however if you would like them coded for you ask me and i might consider it. I will try my best to create the layout to the style you want.

is badly phrased and would be better as:

Here you can request a custom made layout. I’ll only be making the layout headers, however if you would like them coded for you, ask me and I might consider it. I will try my best to create the layout in the style you want.

I think you should take the puzzle game down if it’s closed.

Tutorials

Consider linking ‘dynamicdrive.com’ to the site.
i should be I
Intergrating should be Integrating.

On ‘Add a favicon’:
page, should be page;
pixels saved should be pixels, saved.

On ‘PHP Includes’:
break should be breaking
to should be into
in, it should be in; it.

On ‘Drop-Downs’:
Code and paste should be Copy and paste.

On ‘Page Last Updated’:
updated, copy should be updated; copy
where ever should be wherever.

On ‘No Right-click’:
message, basically should be message; basically.
I don’t like this script; it drives me insane. Also, people can still go to View > Page Source. Or even Print Screen to steal an image. But good on you for keeping the credit intact.

On ‘Password protected’:
wrong should be incorrectly
; to should be , to
display to should be prompt.

On ‘Installing CuteNews’:
writable, if should be writable; if
correct, should be correct.
cutenews should be Cutenews.
Cutenews is a hell of a holey script, easily injected with malicious PHP. I don’t think you should have this tutorial; might encourage people to use it. And it’s already in the Cutenews documentation so I don’t really see a point.

On ‘Description Menus’:
have should be how.

On your ‘WordPress in another directory’:
it’s own should be its own
wordpress should be WordPress.

On your WordPress with PHP tutorial:
customize should be customise
it’s themes should be its themes
wordpress should be WordPress
browswer should be browser.

On your ‘Introduction to cPanel’:
that is programmed should be that are programmed
automatically install should be automatically installed
park domains should be parked domains
cpanel should be cPanel
alot should be a lot.

On ‘mySQL databases/users’:
cpanel should be cPanel
has been create should be has been created
something the following should be something like the following.

On ‘creating email accounts/forwarders’:
just create should be just created.

On ‘Image Masking’:
devon akoi should be Devon Aoki
i’ve should be I’ve
i’m should be I’m
i had should be I had.

On ‘High Pass’:
i’ve should be I’ve
and finished should be and you’re finished
imaged should be image.

On ‘Faded Vintage’:
i’m should be I’m.

‘Gaussian Blur’ seems pretty unnecessary; also the before and after images seem practically identical.

Originality & Creativity

I think your ideas and graphics are very original. You have a unique and very distinct style, and you are definitely creative with your layouts.

I wouldn’t say the images you use are original, because they’re obviously not your own and a few of them could have you in copyright violation.

Organisation & Errors

Just a few tiny errors in spelling/grammar/punctuation. Very minimal broken links.

Fairly well organised; I’d say the sidebar needs a little bit of a clean though.

Overall Comment

Wendy, your site is quite amazing. Your graphic skills are excellent; I’m truly jealous. Your layouts are original and you have a unique indentifiable style.

Some of your tutorials were quite helpful. The graphics you offer are great, and things like your free domain competition attract visitors and make things more interactive.

You update and blog regularly which is a plus, and your site gives visitors a good impression of you as the owner.

I don’t really have any suggestions except to clean up your sidebar a little! And there were just minor errors here and there.

Do keep the content coming. I love your skins and your layouts; I definitely look forward to seeing more in the future!
