If You’re Too Afraid To Fight

I’m sorry for my recent outbursts on Twitter. My mum is annoying me and won’t even let me go to the museum on my own – I have to go for a research assignment. I was going to meet Lee, but she ruined my plan, saying that my dad had a week off for holiday and that he can come with me (along with coming with her to get a haircut). No. /angry

So, I was kind of infuriated. Still am. I tried persisting but that didn’t work. I feel really shit because I’m letting Lee down here, and I was also looking forward to meeting her too. Parents and their ways of stuffing up things, honestly. I don’t know what the plan is now, though. I wanted to go on my own. /hmph

I’m sorry if I yell at anyone and it’s uncalled for. I kind of miss people right now… oh what the hell, I’m rambling.

I’ll pop over to website updates. I did two reviews, two tutorials – please take a look in the sidebar. The two tutorials are for BellaBuzz and dynamic PHP includes. And I have guitar pick smilies in seven colours. If you use the smilies, please let me know; I would be completely honoured.

I also updated my fanlisting collective at EyeThief.com. And I added a new fanlisting for the song The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script! So if you’re a fan please join. All it requires is a link back on one of the pages on your website. :)

Speaking of fanlistings, my lovely friend Vivien got approved to create and run the fanlisting for me. Yes, for myself. :O So when that’s ready, I suppose I will show you the link and you can join – if you’re a fan of me. /eee

Another random note. I was interviewed by Sophia, and you can view the interview on her website.

I’m sorry I haven’t returned all comments. There are a few I have to return. I promise I will return them all when I’m in a better mood.

I did a lot of house chores today. It pissed me off because I spent about a good three to four hours all up, doing them, and no one seems to notice or acknowledge the work I’ve done. I thought that going back into semester would be promising for some better time, but it seems that I just have to do more chores. :(

Yes, new layout. The other one was up for quite a while, and I really liked it. But it was time for a change. I tried to use brown and blue in this layout. I don’t think it was terribly effective, but it’s done. I had to interrupt my friend Vi while she was doing my review… I’m sorry Vi! I was so impatient. /bash

The tagline in the layout is one of my favourite quotes from the song Godspeed by Anberlin. I don’t know if you can spot it but the background is a snowy scene that I captured on my camera in 2007. The layout still needs tweaks so if you have suggestions let me know.

There are no affiliates in the sidebar at the moment. They are being cleaned out. I will be deleting many people, especially those I don’t feel close to. I apologise, but it’s just so hard to keep up with around 80 affiliates; I need to cut it down. Some affiliates don’t contact me at all; that’s why they need to be removed. Others don’t read my blogs or anything and I feel offended.

I’ll provide an update on my blog when I have completed the cleanup. I don’t want to inform people they have been deleted. I would feel quite bad.

Enough of me rambling.

Counting The Hours You’re Awake

Ooh, whee, yay, huzzah – I passed. I passed my first semester of university! /brow /peace

Okay, so for my three subjects, I got a Pass and two Credits. Which isn’t bad, but I could have done better. It just happened that I got better marks for assessments with a lower weighting. Not cool. :P

I’m going to try harder next semester. Now that it’s getting closer I’m a bit worried though. Worried that I will lose it and spiral downwards again. I have to cut back on the website work when I go back, which means I’m going to be working hard now!

My timetable is a lot better; I don’t have to come back home at 7:00pm on Tuesdays anymore, so I won’t be sitting in class losing concentration at 5:00pm, and seeing James before I go running for the Lithgow train at 6:10pm. Especially in a subject I don’t like. :D

James and Lilian also passed so congratulate them please! Also, James finally managed to fix up his dodgy internet; I haven’t talked to him properly in a while. He should be home soon, yay!

Many of you were really excited about my scribble portfolio, and I’d love to give out the URL, but it’s really not finished at all. I would like to thank Vivien, Rachel and Lilian for helping me out so far! I still have over a hundred scribbles to scan and everything so it might take a while. At this rate I should be done before I go back to university though. :) And if you’re lucky I might open it earlier. I just have a lot of works from 2007 and 2008, that’s all.

I would just like to make a quick note on the website. I have a lot of reviews to do, and I know I seem to be able to do a lot, but I might not be able to get them done that quickly, so please be patient.

Also, I will be moving some of my domains and registering new ones for certain projects. I have a photography website planned, as well as a possible advice site, and of course a domain collective for my many domains. If anyone can think of more ideas, do let me know.

I have a giveaway planned for October, which is Heartdrops’ birthday. There will be a few domains given away and possibly some cash, so keep an eye out. I won’t be having a referral contest though. This one will be a bit more interactive and will probably require a bit of advertising for Heartdrops and/or my other domains. I will probably be asking some of my close affiliates to help out and get involved. I will also pop in a bit of creativity like my last movie-poster contest. /pirate

Who remembers the fat cat I blogged about last week? The one who left shit on my lawn? Well, if you need a picture to help you visualise the evil cat, this is a photo that I also placed on my photoblog.

This same fat cat came back. Yes, that’s right. I was chatting to my mum and she pointed at the door and started saying, “Cat! Cat!”

I turned around to see. Shock horror. I was outraged. This same cat had come by again, and there was no way in the world I was going to let this furball shit on our lawn again. No way in the world. I rapped on the glass to signal it to get the heck out, and then it began walking away.

Good.

I got a picture of it walking away. Fully sick, huh? :P

Thanks for not reading my blog, guys. So in my previous blog, I wrote about the types of comments people leave on blogs. I thought it would be more respectful to leave blog-related comments, but some people didn’t seem to notice the “I’ll just ignore your comment“. Ironic.

Anyway, moving on. Vivien timed me returning comments earlier, and it took me 52 minutes. Not terribly exciting. Shows how much time I have on my hands… not. :P

I had some nice plans for today, to fix up the website section, and also to set up my scribble portfolio, which is on another domain. It’s going to take a really long time to scan all of my scribbles and make pages for them. A really long time. I have about three hundred scribbles, and scanning them all and making pages for all of them is going to be hell. I have five more weeks to do it, so hopefully I can.

I have a few ideas for domains to display more of my photography as well. I was also thinking of giving away some .info domains, possibly in the next month or two. But that may be quite some time as I’m rather busy.

I received some questions on my last blog, so I’ll go ahead and answer them.

Mallory asked me how I get so many comments. Heather also asked me this question previously.

I have always found it hard to answer this question because I’m really not sure. I get a lot of comments and I try my best to return all of them promptly. I used to “bloghop” a lot in the past, but now that I get so many comments, I haven’t had the time. Many of my comments are from affiliates, and we do have little conversations through comments. I do appreciate receiving comments, so that is why I try and return them all and keep in contact with my visitors. I try and update regularly and write interesting blogs. I don’t have the greatest resources or tutorials at all, and I think that my visitors like to read my blogs. :)

Gillian asked me a few questions.

How long did it take you to validate your XHTML? xD
A long time. I did it a while ago, when I opened this domain last October, if I remember correctly. Before that, I didn’t know a thing about XHTML or accessibility, so I had about two hundred errors. /hehe

What’s your favourite song?
This is a hard one to answer; I have so many favourite songs. At the moment, it would have to be Soft Skeletons by Anberlin.

Would you rather be super skinny or super fat and why?
I’ve lived with being rather skinny. I would rather be skinny because I wouldn’t have as much difficulty moving around. I can’t imagine carrying a lot of weight because I’ve been skinny all my life so far. I think I would be able to adjust to it better. And I wouldn’t mind having smaller boobs. :P

Em asked me: Do your family/friends know you own a website? Are they supportive?
When I started web designing seven years ago, my mum didn’t like me putting photos of me. That was about the only thing she didn’t like. Right now, she and my dad know that I blog and maintain websites, but they don’t really ask me about it. They know I talk to people online and so on. Now they sort of trust me with what I’m doing so they’re not worried. They don’t ask me about it, or visit my website or anything.
My close friends such as James and Lilian know about my blog and websites (and domain addiction). They have blogs of their own and comment on mine as well. :D

I got a few other questions which were rather general – like “How is university?” – well, it’s good. Even though I am on break right now. I return to second semester in July; about a month from now. All my blogs seem to revolve around my website (James is easily bored of these kinds, aww  ). I should probably get my butt out of the house. /hehe
